Polish Pass Update
WebGL Version Launch!
If you've previously played Outposts, you might notice that this version is slightly different from the past version. We've not only ported the game to WebGL for you to play as a browser game, but also performed several fixes, updates and additions to the game. The overall experience has been significantly polished and the AI has been rewriten from scratch!
Here is a complete devlog of what has changed:
Changes:
- Crouch is now on "C"
- Player no longer auto-aims when shooting
- Updated Totem Core to 5.3.0 with login fix in webgl
- Added post processing in all stages
- Increased influence on gun sway
- New AI, rewriten from scratch
- New mission layout with thumbnails
- New blocking popup if the player tries to play a legacy stage without being logged in
- Enemies now have 3D gunshot sound indicating their position to the player
- Added Totem registration popup. When opening the game, a screen appears asking if the player wants to log in or play as a guest
- Added minimum damage of 1 if the player is heavily armored (previously it was possible not to receive damage when taking damage because of equipment)
- Removed "Legacy Levels" button in the menu as it is no longer needed
- Added jumping
- Added Monetization (Banners, Popups and Interstitials)
- Optimized build size, reduced from 150MB to 120MB
- Ammo is now infinite and has been removed as a possible reward to prevent the player from running out of ammo
- Added enemy and player shooting particle
- Added victory animation (a different animation for each stage)
- Modified the sound of footsteps
- Enemies have been rebalanced so that they deal more damage and have a higher chance to hit
- UI adapted for PC
- Added animation/new item unlock screen
- Improved onboarding, players no longer go through the inventory to start the game, now they automatically equip rifle and pistol.
- Removed text of gaining equipment at the end of the stage (now only shows in the item unlock scene)
Bug Fixes:
- Fixed water transparency conflicting with grass
- Fixed the stone's collider with the tree on top in the Seed Market stage
- Fixed collider issues on Cliffside stage rocks
- Fixed not blinking red when taking damage
